After the first few years under the provincial regime in Alberta, francophones realized that they would have to take serviced they deemed essential into their own hands. Starting with the creation of a provincial association, the Association canadienne-française de l’Alberta (ACFA), with the goal of gathering individuals in the local parish everywhere in Alberta. The ACFA organizes community educational services by finding bilingual instructors within the province and later, bilingual commissioners. ACFA also handled the creation of media organizations such as a newspaper (1928) and a radio station (1949).
