ACCENT on heritage is an interactive bilingual platform centred on cultural and historical aspects of Alberta’s Francophone heritage. It was designed for students in an educational environment as well as to provide teachers with learning materials complementary to the curriculum.
The content was developed in partnership with Société historique francophone de l’Alberta.
How to use this platform
The platform contains a timeline depicting different francophone peoples of Alberta throughout our history. In order to accommodate different age groups, the depth of the content is varied, simply clicking on information boxes to find more information about each topic. You can also find additional teaching tools in the Teacher’s Zone. Finally, come back often as new content will be made available regularly.
What is ACCENT?
ACCENT is a bilingual directory designed for school communities so they can find recreational, cultural and educational resources and activities that are available in French for students in Alberta. Therefore, ACCENT creates a connection between service providers and school communities that have French as a first language, French immersion and French as a second language programs.
